Who has an aftermarket oil pressure gauge?

i have a question. for those of you that have an aftermarket opg in your svt. mechanical preferred.. after your car is warmed up what does it read at idel? before i blew my first motor mine read 40psi, now after having my new motor put it in sits anywhere between 21-25 at idle.. to me that seems kinda low..

any help would be appreciated

I think mine runs about 40 psi when warm 80 at start up and 60 when I'm driving it .

your does sound low,

it rums 50 while driving but just 25 when at idle... i dontknow if the gauge is bad.... or its running low cause thats where my leak is

My guess would be your leak, it sound like you have good pressure when your driving. Do you have any idea how much oil your losing.

check your oil line.. if it is leaking there will be evidence of such. where do you have ur oil line connected at? by the filter or by the coil?

its in by the filter. and it is wet all around the filter and around where the line taps into the back of the blaock. i think i might plug that hole up and put it in by the coil.. i say i put in a half quart every 500 miles or so ....

any body know what i need to put back into the plug to plug up the hole?? since i didnt install the gauge i wouldnt know

you can buy the plugs... its the same things at the adapter you'd use for the spot by the coil.. cept it is just a plug.. as long as it is the same size thread you'll be fine.

That’s the location the Factory sending unit is located, I would check that your oil cooler is also on tight. When I installed my gauge I hade to remove the oil cooler to get the fittings I needed in the car. I also used a high temp thread sealant on all the fittings. The only hard part about working in that location it’s just hard to see anything.
