Finally finished my car and hit the track. I have a big traction issue of off the line but can be fixed easily with my boost by gear setup. I have only made 1 pass so far timeslip shows results. This was a low boost pass and has more in it when traction issues are fixed.

i saw that the other day Jesse, lookin real good.
I finally got around to ordering the rest of my maintenance parts, just have to install this crap. need to figure out my oil plumbing next. i got the turbo feed line and drain line, just need the crankcase to catch can, catch can to intake mani figured out.

I've always liked the 4Runner.

Yeah, I'm going to attempt the timing... I just got the Massive timing kit Yesterday. still reading up on the procedure though.

honestly I don't see the use for a timing tool unless the engine shreds the belt. the basic rule we always like to go with is "if it came in running, timing is set right".

two simple tips that will help you do it a lot easier and faster. mark your timing! get some white out and make a line on the top edge of both cam gears and in the same spot on the head... make a second line on each cam gear so they are facing each other. makes it impossible to line up wrong.

do the same for the crank gear. that way you can just line it all up knowing its right instead of having to retime everything.

the second thing is grab some of those black triangular heavy duty paper clips. you can use them to line up the cam gears to the new belt and they will hold the belt where it should be while you route the rest of it and add the tensioner. (clip may work on the crank gear too)

i read the white out tip, seemed solid.

i like the tool because it locks the cams and has a locking pin as well. can't be too safe!

gonna do the serpentine belt as well.. i got the belt, should i replace the tensioner(s) pulley(s)??? how many are there? all Zetecs should be the same, as long as the Z has AC.
