wouldn't there be some sort of data base you could look up (or call Ford) to ask for the version or date code on the "latest" Focus flash and then most generic OBD2 readers are able to read some system info like version number and then see if a reflash would do any thing for you.

A simple pull of the battery for 15-20 min to drain everything to "reset" you ECU might be just as effective.

it wouldn't update the ECU.

I do recall a TSB for the reflash of the SVT ECM, however I don't remember the details.

OK ya It's the SVT ECM that had an update. Supposedly the ford update is suppose to fix the rpm dips but who knows.

rather than paying for a stock flash you should get with Tom and have him set you up with one of his tunes, i've heard great things about his SVT tune. I'd get it if i wasn't going FI.

Dose'nt he do "upgrades" to higher tunes... you get a NA tune and you can move up to a FU tune or NO2 tune.. ? So even though your going FI you can get a NA tune now and pay the difference to upgrade to a FI tune... I think that's how he does it.

He will do free updates to your tune as you add parts or up boost. There is a separate charge for NA to FI tune. or vice versa. at least that's what he told me so I held off for my tune until i get the kit on.
