I don't know anyone in Utah that has done their focus yet.

The egr DOES do something. it lowers the combustion temperature to reduce NOx emissions which occur above 2300 degrees. the computer is tuned for this as it changes timing. remove the egr without a tune because it is "useless crap" and you are changing burn time away from your goal of about 1.5ms.

The svt is tuned to not have one then. lucky. one thing, don't take it to an emissions only place.... they will screw you over. find a shop that does state and i/m.

my focus passed without a cat. no cel just luck.

Btw my car is turbo stock. upgraded of course but I kept the manifold. it has an egr. nothing special about it.

Also I'm back in Murray now... still registered in price so no emissions.

My problem is I had no problems going to an Emissions+ down the street for years until one idiot thought that my car was a 2006 Duratec that has two cats I guess and when they saw only one on my car they failed it with a tampered cat. after that I had to go over to Murray to the health and safety place... need less to say long story short the whole getting the EGR is what cause my car to catch a small engine fire on the side of the road and is now getting the whole rebuild.

Any who... I sent a PM over to Tom to see if his DIY kit has an option for the EGR...

I know the EGR does control emissions but like stated simple tuning could remove the need for the EGR system and do the same thing.

I go to a new place and don't have problems with them on a Jeep that I have which has some potential "problems" but are more understanding if that's the right word...

What all does it take to register a vehicle in a different county? Does the title have to match the address in the county? or just a few forms of proof of residency (power and gas bill type of thing?)

I just went and registered it with my home address but said it is primarily used in price.... or you can get a po box for the address.

that's why I don't like those places. they kept failing customer vehicles which were fine. We almost got the highway patrol involved but they shut down and changed ownership. it was an emissions plus.

so basically it sounds like I just need to go to the DMV in that county... well the turbo is about a year out as I am getting it going NA for the moment so I can Turbo it down the road. Just trying to work out all the emissions stuff now so if there is anything I need to do I can do it now. I would love you take it back to Michigan and register it and get MI license plates again (originally from MI, only switched to Utah plates so I could get instate tuition 6 years ago).. parents still live in MI.. wonder how hard that would be... they have zero emissions or safety inspections.

aw come on.. autox isn't THAT bad for your car.. your tires may hate you, but it's perfectly safe for a daily driver.
