What Makes the 2000 intake mani so good?

I've heard a lot of people swap in 2000 intake mani's from other Foci into their newer models, but I've never heard why. What are the major differences between the 2000 and 2001 intake mani's? (I drive an 01) Is it worth me hunting one down and dropping it in, and how complicated is the install?
I'm still new at posting here though I've been reading the forums for a while, so if there's a thread like this that is already in existence just point that out.
I know that a lot of you have first hand experience with this, so just enlighten a humble young Focus driver if you please

i dont know if a 2000 is necessarily the year it was in. example S2000 honda

you can have a 03 S2K or 04 S2K.

i may be wrong but i think it is just the name of the intake mani...????
someone will pick up on this hopefully.

The diff between the Early 2000 (Year) ((E2k = Early 2000)) intake manifold and the newer mani's is the way it is put together. The E2k mani has a one peice tube that connects to the TB, the newer mani's are made with 2 peices, a c-shaped peice and plate, to form that area because it is easier and cheaper to manufacture it that way than the one peice. The downside to the newer main's are the seam where the 2 peices meet has alot of burrs and valleys and is not as smooth internally as the E2k mani. If you can get one it is worth the money especially if you get it ported to match a 65mm TB and the intake side of your engine head.

Yup, you see for was already selling the focus in europe since 1998. So when it came over here they used the intake manifold from the euro foci.

Thats why it says 1.8/2.0 zetec on it.

Ford later found a cheaper way to produce the manifolds and so the 2 piece design reared its ugly head.
