On the 00-04 headlights there is pretty much a line on the headlight near the top when you look at it. It traces all the way down and tapers. I used that line and found it to be the best result.

that line would give a def mean look to the car now black to match the grill or white to match the car

I would say white to match the car did black only to match my car.

I'll be dropping HIDs in soon, like in the next week and I plan on following this for the job. However, I don't plan on painting the housing, but vynil cutouts shaped over the OE lights with a torch. Will put up pics as soon as I'm done. Thanks for the how-to I can use all the pointers I can get!

I'd recommend that some people with really bright bulbs with a car that has a light color, spray black paint down first, then add your car color. That's what I did with mine.

Thanks rudel forgot to mention that. Also using a dark red colored sandable primer can take care of this as well.

J miller if you plan on installing HID's in stock housing i advise you not to. If you will have a projector setup then do it.

sorry, forgot to mention that part. I'm pulling the stock ones out and, yeah putting in projectors that apparently come with like 7000k or 8000k HIDs prewired. So yeah, apparently unplug the old harness and plug this one in.
