Quaife Differential
So i have been reading about these and i saw that a good place for these in in an autocrass car becuase they allow you to accelerate out of a corner sooner then an open differential. i was just wondering if anyone has one of these and what they think about the way it works and how well it works. thanks guys.

I have heard nothing but good concerning the Quaife. I have actually driven the Torsen in a Focus and in a Honda. The Torsen is good while you are competing, but gets jerky for daily driving, especially around the parking lot (looking for a space) or the neighborhood.

I also have a torsen in my focus and isn't jerky at all. Only time it is really noticeable is going around a corner and hammering it, it will just pull you into a tighter turn. Which is what you want but takes some time to getting use to.

No issues at all from a performance standpoint.
However, it will put you into the SM (MODIFIED) class. Your PAX index will be through the floor and it will be very difficult for you to be competitive with STI's, EVO's, Corvettes, and just about anything else with significant modification. The SCCA lumps you all together. There is discussion about a FWD SM class, but I am not sure if that's final. Just something to think about...

1. Visual. A car launches and spins BOTH wheels. Suspension travel in corners under acceleration... 2. Technical inspection. Under SCCA rules, a car can be impounded for inspection. This includes: Visual Mechanical tear down Weights and measurements This happens at every event (visual). If a protest is filed (i.e another competitor believes that another is cheating) then the car is impounded, then torn apart to look at the internal mechanicals and so forth. IF..BIG IF, an infraction is discovered, then the guilty party is stripped of all points and is responsible for any charges to inspect the car AND put it back together. If there is no fault found, then the individual who filed the protest is responsible for any expense (at the owner's CHOICE) to restore the car. It would be very difficult to hide an LSD from the experienced eyes of an AX crowd.

when I started autocross, I carefully looked at my mods vs the classing, and it took the supercharger to bump me to SM, and everything else including the LSD was STX, I believe.
