Whats the deal with trunk release??

My friend has an 08 focus and I went over there to check it out and fill him in on some of my well kept Focus knowledge(being that untill now he has been a honda fanboy). While we were sitting in the focus he starts to complain about the trunk release. I say whats wrong with it ? He says I dont have one. I said wha wha what?? In his car there is no trunk release button in the cabin, no where. Is this common in the new focus?Whats the deal? I use mine all of the time.

If he has a button on the remote for it that means there is a solenoid in the back or accuator that is popping it. But that doesn't mean you will have a button or lever for it in the car.

actually I just looked at my neighbor's, there isn't one.

Yea, I noticed that when I was messing with some 08 Foci at work. Checked the Door sill, and the dashboard and the glove box and couldn't find a trunk pop button. There is one on the remote, but that's It as far as I can tell. The 07 Mustangs (at least the V6s) didn't have an interior trunk release button either (not 100% sure on the 08s though). Come on Ford, Your Slackin!!!

Theoretically since there is a solenoid, you should be able to rig up a pop button if you can find a place you want to put it.
