thank u for the info i just fix the intake runners problem on 02 svt focus with the pic's you put on here. and going thru the head light is the ez way to get at it. you R THE MAN!!!!!

So if my car is throwing the code..

P1518 saying that my IMRC is stuck open..

I should take it out and do what? check it over

can someone help?

You need to see if the IMRC module cable to the intake manifold is broken.
Usually at the manifold right below the throttle valve.
If it is you need to put a screw in it to hold it back on, or replace it with a new one. You can get a new one on Ebay for about $150.

so is that on the inside of the IMRC or outside, I havent taken a look
at it yet, though I have a feeling its on the outside lol

does anyone know what kind of grease or spray he used to lubricate this?

would white lithium spray work?

maybe silicone lubricant spray?

need answer quick.

Check your IMRC lever under your throttle body they break very often. It is connected to the IMRC cable. CFM sells the lever for 40 bucks and is made of billet. I replaced mine with this one after the plastic one broke. Check the link.

nice work, OP. I'll admit that I couldn't keep from pulling that guy apart when i removed it from my car. I did not flip the board though, so this thread was still interesting :)

btw if anyone breaks their IMRC controller, I've got a spare just chillin' in my closet.
