Right now you need to either practice your reaction time or practice your launch/getting the best time. Once you get both of them down separately then you can put the package together and go for the whole enchilada.

With better reaction times, you won't get better ET's.

The ET timing system doesn't start until after you've established your reaction time. (Stage light goes out.)

Now when racing by all means get your reaction times sorted out.
BIG TIP... TOOK ME ALMOST A YEAR TO FIGURE IT OUT

How deep you stage will drastically effect your reaction time, and your ET. There are about 4-6" of margin on staging. Also look at the starting line. Is there a crown? Meaning is the "groove or line" in the track lower than the rest of the track. If you stage on the hill one time and in the valley the next your reaction time will be slower when you are in the valley. In the valley you are showing a wider tire to the staging beams. This slowes your reaction time, but oddly enough lowers your ET.

I worked on doing everything in the first 60' the exact same every time. I tried to makes sure the position side to side and in the staging beams was exactly the same. I used tape on the hood to line up with the seams in the concrete. I'm working on a paint scheme for the car so I don't get so many questions from competitors about what the tape is for. I even used just the left lane for a long time. Then I searched for a spot in the right lane to match what I had in the left lane. My reaction times got better and more consistant, and oddly enough my ET's got better and more consistant with the seat time I gained working on staging and launching.

Honestly, the best thing to do is just get out there and do it!! do it every tuner weekend if you live close enough to the track. Practice makes perfect. There is nothing we can say that will make you faster, the only way to get faster is practice practice practice!!! Just like this vid!!

Are you guys serious... My 07 ST can totally disable the traction control by holding the button until the dash light lights up. Then it spins at will!
Traction control on will really slow you down!
I have a video of traction control tests...

When you press the button traction control is disabled but the car will still use the brakes under 20mph to try to keep the car under control. 20mph is 32kph which is right where you started your test at.
