I'm buying you a Hockey Pop the next time I see you in the pubs! Seriously son, this is a great write up and photo session! This is why I came on this Tech. Forum, to listen to the people that have done the work themselves. I like doing it myself, mabye not as quick as a line machanic, but a lot heavier in the wallet! Thanks again, keep those pictures and info projects comming!!

i know this thread is pretty old. but do you need to reshim the shafts if you open the transmission? im installing a torsen and will be shimming that, but not sure about what else is required

Someone else can step in, but the OEM diff doesn't need shimmed. I do believe the Torsen needs shimmed but can't help with that because I haven't needed to do it yet.

I ordered the carrier bearings & a speed senser & the motorcraft oil w/ my torsen. I didn't have to deal w/ pulling the old bearings off the oem diff.
