FYI you dont need to cut the carpet at all.

I just poked a hole big enough for the bolt to go thru and with ALOT of elbow gresse and luck managed to line up the bar ,

thats kinda cheap though, the carpet is thick and theres a gap between it and the body, so i didn't think it'd do its job properly if i didn't cut the carpet. besides it says to in the instructions, so you may not HAVE to but its probably a good idea. so whatever works for you, but as far as im concerend detail like that is what makes a decent job a good job.

thats an amazing idea, but i take my sub out frequently so unless they have an easy unclipping system or something, it wouldn't work for me.

I left carpet uncut cause I was worried about noise To be honest. When i dynamat the trunk however I will be cutting the carpet.
