make sure everything is in working order. if youre driving it normally somethings wrong. check your intake, ignition, fuel, and all the sensors. if you havent checked everything yet theres not really any way to help you. do you have a check engine light on? they can make diagnosing a lot easier.

my last about 3 tanks ive got like 35-37 but it wasnt very fun since i was babying it. i get into 5th at like 30 miles an hour lol.

i remember once i got 60 miles to a like a half a tank after i changed my fuel filter and it worked its way loose and was leaking on the way to work lol

lol. yeh i do drive fast half the time, so maybe i need 2 chill so i can see how much i can save. i had a check engine light on 4 both my o2 sensors, but i corrected it a while back so no light. im nearing my next oil change, like next week. recently swaped filters, from a stock one 2 a retro fitted SRI (grabbed a filter and plugged it at the end of the stock air intake pipe)

the most important thing is your right foot, but if you want few more ideas check this thread. http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=158789

I've also found that right at 2500 rpms, which is about 61 mph, is where this car gets the best gas mileage for cruising.

yeah it does...I drive a lot on the freeway, and when I can find a semi to follow(in a safe manner) it typically increases my mpgs by 2 to 3.

Also the only time I have gotten 18.5 to 19 was when I was in a town which had stop lights every 100 meters or so, and were timed so that you have to stop at every single one, well I was driving like a "dick" and thats what I got, recently due to gas hitting 3.95 i have really backed off the accelerator, and thus have gotten extremly high mpgs, on the freeway hitting 38 sometimes.

Another trick to use, which I have found really helps on the freeway(I take super long trips(5hrs+) on the freeway quite often for my job) is to use the cruise control.

Basic maintenence. You're doing 10mpg worse than I am, and I drive an SVT.

Fuel filter, air filter, plugs and wires, heated oxygen sensor will all have a big affect on your gas mileage. Whichever of the above you have neglected would be a good place to start. There are more complicated (and expensive) potential reasons for low mileage, but starting cheap and simple is a good way to go - don't try to reinvent the wheel figuring it out if you've got 90,000 miles on your original plugs and wires.
