Anyway to Activate Additional Indicators

Now that I think about it some more I perhaps had an option like convienence package or something. I have cruise and auto dimming rear view mirror, that may have something to do with it.

My SES seems to utilize the display completely. I have compass, thermometer, etc.

2008 with sync, sirius, auto dimming mirror and no temp or compass.

I may be wrong but I don't think any 08's have it. If thats correct it may have been a feature added in job 2 of the 09's which would explain why some loaded 09's don't have it.

I am beginning to think the temp has to do with build date. Compass, build date and the package that included dimming mirror.

I called my dealer and asked them how much it would be to install both of those. They just said somewhere around $1000 and a day. But as I did more research, aparently Job 2 are April 09 and later. Mine was built in November of 08. I am royally confused... But I am guessing that they didn't check the build date and just assumed.

Ok, so you have a job 1 09 which further validates my thought that this is a job 2 feature.

This could be as simple as a missing sensor somewhere or we could be talking completely different, cut, or missing wiring harnesses. If you can get it out of the dealer get the part #s they would use if you paid them to do it. It may be simpie enough you can get the parts and DIY.

On another note our cars, well mine anyway, has a spot in the center of the dash for a light sensor. As far as I know auto headlights were never an option. Ford does some crazy stuff but it keeps us busy!

HAHAH! I didn't pay them to do it. But I will try my best to get the part numbers out of them and do some more research. But she did mention wiring harnesses, so I am guessing that that could be the reason. When I go to pick my car up, I'll ask for all of that.

So confusing haha. My 2011 SE is as base as it gets - manual transmission, and absolutely no flair. Anything I've added from the higher models/packages was added on afterwards. But still no compass!

a lot of the 08s + have the ability of the atemp/compass there are additional parts that need to be installed with it. My 08 (with everything except the leather and traction control) and doesn't have it. i talked with my dealer and they said additional parts were needed. some have the ability and some don't.... hit and miss it seems on 08 +
