First time at the strip

Me and some friends went down to Gateway Motorsports Park for Midnight Madness last night and me and my buddy decided to run our cars for the hell of it. (Left Lane) He has a Mazda Protege5 with the mazdaspeed ECU, header, custom exhaust, CAI, and was running TSW Hockenheim R 18x9's I believe w/ summer tires. (right Lane) My car (mods in sig) and i was running all-season tires, both of our R/T's suck but I was on 4hrs of sleep and had been up since 4am so you could say I was sleeping on the line lol and also this was my first pass ever on the track. Here's the time slip.

For the first time out running a 16.5 is pretty good. I have been told for every tenth you take off your 60 foot time will take off 2 tenths in the 1/4. So work on your launch and you could run low 16's all day.

Lighter wheels would help you alot here. The ses wheels are about 21lbs. Go to some lightweight wheels(12-14lbs) and you will see a nice improvement(=

Yeah im running my 16" rota slipstreams which were 12.4lbs each when I got them(=
there are many wheels out there that are under 14lbs in the 15-16 size but only a few 17" but there are some. I remember our buddy up is vegas(forgot ff name lol) had some 17" wheels that were about 14lbs.
Honestly 16s dont look bad on our car when it is lowered. At least I dont think so:

Yeah it's gots its plus and minuses, tires are are really cheap however you can't get anything over a 215 you'd almost have to put a 50 series on because anything shorter looks like a cookie cutter.
