How-To: VHT Niteshades Tails

cool i already have the acrylic clear from past projects, havent tinted the tails yet... tinting them as a nice way to fix this scratch =)

okay i see what your doing now, i would test for compatibilty whit the tint and clear on a peace of scrape to make sure that there isnt a reaction. i can happen i had it happen to me before.

to avoid that all together which type of VHT clear that i listed would work well?

If you go with the VHT clear caswell plating now has some in. If you are going to get some hurry. Once they are out this time that's it. I ordered some about 1-1/2 months ago. I'll get it tomorrow. If I knew it wouldn've taken this long I would've went to auto zone.

if i order the niteshade i wont have it by next week, didnt know caswell took forever... im hoping to do this while my car is in the body shop for 5 days next week

edit- just ordered from summit, looks like they will definitely have it to me on time

edit #2- how do you remove the 3rd brake light on an 05-07 sedan, ive been searching but nothing so far

well, i took off the pre-cut tint and im waiting on my two cans of spay. im going to do both tails and the 3rd brake cover. Also i have a saleen wing on the way and i might nite shade the lights on it too. this is a great write up and just one thing, do you have pics when you taped off the reverse lights.

Sadly no.

I just used Automotive masking tape the second time and taped them off basically layed it and traced it to make it perfect.

also what you think about the saleen wing, its black and im thinking about leaving it black to go with the theme of my car since i have black projectors, black side markers, and now going to have nite shaded tails and 3rd brake. i only paid $65 shipped for it.

I vote leave it black to tie in the rest of the exterior mods with it. If you don't like it maybe leave the middle black and the outer part color matched to tie both in.
