My supplier said that nitshade was in the process of being discontinued. Anyone else hear this rumor?

VHT has been bought out by another company, yes. I'm not all the way sure about it being discontinued though. I think a couple of vendors I've spoken with over the past few weeks said that supplies are short & akward lead times, but they are going to still carry it . Anyone looking to buy some make sure you check around before ordering it. I've seen it ranging from just under $11 to $24.99 for the same size can. They are also in a larger can now according to K-DOG @ massive speed, but for the same price.

Thanks Lolly. That was what my sources were saying too, but adding the discontinued part. Duplicolor bought em out.
3m owns duplicolor. I didn't realize there is different size cans going around.

so.... is there any reason that you guys leave the reverse lights white? I would like to do my whole tails but is there a law that you have to have the white visible or something?

I'd check with your local laws, but the main reason I left it clear was so that other people can see me backing up out of a space and not tag me.

Nah some like it some do it black i smoked it a bit to give it that tinted feel.

I use the clear from an auto parts store or walamrt worked fine for me. Otherwise it's all about prep.

if i have a scratch in one of the lenses from keying, would i be able to sand that out with a gradually higher grit to smooth it out prior to niteshading it?

are you talking about sanding just part that is scratched or the whole lens, if you are thinking of doing just part it wont work. doing one part you will build up more tint over the old tint. but if you sand the whole thing with 400 and higher i would say you can remove the scratch and the old tint and re-tint the lens. and yes the acrylic clear that you can get from any auto-zone.
