I know you weren't saying make the ST the base model... I'm saying the base model of the current Euro Focus would either A) cost more than the current US Focus (like the Mazda3) or B) lose money (like the 2000-2004 Focus). By bringing in the Fiesta, they will likely choose option A when they bring in the new Focus.

I can work with that...

How do you know that Ford Lost money on the 2000 to 2004 Focuses? Also I think Ford would up their REP if they had some nice Euro Focuses in the US. I think it would be a great idea to sell 3 to 5 thousand Euro Focuses a year (if they all sold out the first year). I would buy a new Euro Focus for 25 to 30 thousand. How many others reading this thread would or would not?

I love the new look!! I love it so much I have one being built, and can't wait for it to arrive. Trading in my 03 ZX3 SVT to purchase it. Had to order it because no one all the options I wanted. I opted for the 5 speed, Audiophile Sound System, heated leather seats, and the ABS btake system. The price skyrocketed to a whopping $20,600.00!! But I feel it is well worth it. There is a $2500 cash rebate, and I get a break for being a retired Ford employee. Dealer has promised to give me $5000 for the trade, which I feel is fair. I will miss my SVT no doubt, but the time is right. I thought about waiting for the new 2010 Fiesta, which is supposed to be a great handing car, but the SVT is going to need some major repairs soon (exhaust, struts and bushings, cat converter.... and on and on....). I'll report back whan I get the 09 Coupe.
Cheers

Real glad i got the Manuel trans.as it is soooooo smoth and fun !!! This car rocks !!

Nice. I'd love to pick up a new one right now, it's taking a lot of will power not too. I've had no payments for 2 years now, I want to keep it going as long as I possibly can.

$20,600 is the MSRP, which no one will pay if they have just 1/2 of a brain. The heated leather seats, ABS brakes and the Audiophile sound system added quite a bit to the price. Jiggy posted he paid $14,500 for this car...... I doubt that very much. Not calling him a liar, but really that is the price for a total stripped base SE package. I don't care how much wheeling and dealing you did, you are NOT going to get a Focus SES Coupe for 14K, it's just not going to happen, not with the options I listed. As a retired Ford employee I get a very good deal, and there is a $2500.00 cash back from Ford, plus the $500.00 I'll get with the brochure I had Ford send me. Then of course you must add the destination charge and the New York killer sales tax. All said and done the dealer makes a whopping $200-$300 on the deal, plus any hold back. I have never paid MSRP for any car, and anyone who does is just totally clueless. Now like I said, I am not calling Jiggy a liar, but how can you get $6100 of the MSRP of a fully loaded SES Coupe? Fess up, what options does the car have? I am 53 yrs old, and have been working at Ford Dealerships for a very, very long time, and no one gets a deal like that. A stripped down dealer demo, I can believe. But, hey I have been wrong a few times in my life...lol! And if you did pay $14,500 for the same car I described, then my Goodness you are the MAN!! I am assuming Jiggy is a he, if not please accept my most humble apologies. (That is my politically correct disclaimer)
Cheers bfocused
