just wanting to know the price estimate

Some kids got caught last night trying to break into a car 3 houses down from mine... I think they were lucky.. If they hadn't gotten caught, and had gotten to my car, they might have just "disappeared."

(before I posted this message we both had the same amount of posts!!!)

Dude, that's a whole big mess your getting into if your not a pretty skilled mechanic. Are you going to try and find a shop that will do all the work for you? If so then that's almost as expensive as buying a new car. If your going to do all the work then your going to need to do your research really, REALLY well... and still hit up the forums and get some on hand help from some friends that know...

Your not just going to have to swap motors, you'll be changing to a different transmission, suspension, relocation of a bunch of stuff, everything

either way its going to be a big task, but having a V8 focus would just be awesome... there are some people around here that have done it, you'll need to make fast friends with these guys lol...

I'm thinking of putting a saab 9-3 V6 turbo motor in mine...or just building this extra 2L DOHC Zetec I have laying around...

whatever you do always go quality man...don't cheap out, that always causes more problems that anything else

look into putting in about 10k in just parts if you could do all the modifications yourself and you had all the tools to do it w/!!! if not, look into about 40k to have a shop buy all the stuff and do all the custom work!!! Remember, there isn't just the motor, there is the RWD swap, the whole different suspension setup, brake setup, steering setup, etc. basically ur building a car almost from scratch w/ using a focus shell!!

Shouldn't cost all that much - just whatever you'd have to pay someone (if anything) to lift it up there. You'll of course scratch and dent the hell outta the roof, though - fixing THAT will probably cost the most.

you could just buy an old mustang 5.0 ive heard the 8.8 rear end is a direct fit but i really dont know
