Just finished this up. And let me tell you, Royal Purple + CFM STS + Counterweight Delete + All 3 VF Poly Mounts = GREAT Shifting. Once again, great writeup.

i bought the car with 37000 on it and i have never done it so maybe i sould just do it just to be safe. and does it just have to be any special manual fluid?

Nice tutorial. For some reason mine took less than 2.1 quarts. When i stuck my finger in the fill hole it checked out just below the fill hole.

well my grandpa swears by amsoil products so he wants me to use their manual tran fluid. which that is 9.00 a quart as well so im not worried bout the money

My car has been sitting for months untill I picked it up last week. This is def something I will be doing this weekend! Quick question.. When draining.. how big of a container will I need? I have 5gallon buckets laying around, but I also have an old kitty liter box that might work well for this.. Thanks! |

Wow, I should do this! (Just need to get some ramps or somethin'...)
But what's this about leaving "a slight bit of fluid in the case" when draining? And, to do so, do you then pop the drain plug back in before it's done (like, before flow gets to a trickle)? It kinda looks like you'd have to use a siphon to get it ALL out, anyway... |
