k, anyways looked it up Syncomax runs like ATF, which alot of people use, people use to or did have issues running MTL being so thick tearing up our Getrag might even be this thread, I bought XT-M5-QS anyways from Ford. Just going to stick with the Basics the Getrag calls for.
Edit: I do hear alot of good thing about the redline but I never used it anyone here using it now? Is it alot better then Fords stuff?

<facepalm> Tom runs Moblie run engine oil in his SVTs...... I just want someone to tell me what to run, bought the Ford stuff guess I'll just use that?

I run Lucus synthetic in my 5 spd. In the winter cold months I find it shifts so easy compared to the lube Ford advises. I run nothing but synthetic in my gear cases.

I thought the stuff run in the mtx75 chews the Getrags up, if we ran what it called for it heats up to much and melts stuff and to thick to run right in the cold

Who told you that?
Well if it was eating up and chewing gear material , wouldn't it be seen at gearcase oil change intervals? At 168,000+ miles I have seen nothing. And believe me when I say I look for the crud in my drainages.

If I were going by the book, I'd use Mercon V ATF. If I wanted a bit more performance, I'd go with Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. If I wanted even more performance, but with higher cost, I'd use the Royal Purple Sychromesh. (I believe that's what the previous owner of my car used when he drained/filled it 20k miles ago.)

Thanks I knew it read that before. This guy above said he used Syncomesh and his car runs better with Redline 75w90, I'm confused

I use Royal Purple 75-90 Max Gear oil not the synchromesh,
All the Mini cooper S guys who also have the getrag 6 are using Redline 75-85 MTL gear oil |
