How To: Tweeter Mounting for Manual Windows
I have NO idea if anyone has put this on the forums yet for others to see.
I think adding the tweeters adds a nice touch to the car, here are the pics and i will put some words after them, yet i don't remember what tools that i used, so i will add them right now: Tools: cordless drill hole cutter, (size depending on tweeter size) flat-head screw driver, small torx bits (don't remember what size) small socket set for door speaker removal if i forgot any please remind me or post below lol NOTE: RED CIRCLES are CLIPS holding things in place, not easily broken, but don't rank on it if its not coming out. Step 1: Remove inside part of mirror Pull the housing to the right from my picture, not the whole thing just the far right part of it where the two metal clips are showing below.. once removed, pull from door, they are all clips. ![]() Step 2: remove screw from behind the door handle, there should be a little cover that looks like it is covering a screw in behind it, well it is so take that cover off and take out that screw. ![]() Step 3: Once the holding screw has been removed remove the door handle paneling. ![]() Step 3: get your torx and start takin out the screws along the side of the door and the bottom and the two in the fold of the door. ![]() ![]() Step 4: Remove the door handle, take a small flat head screw driver and pop the bottom part out of the door, then just pull it out. ![]() Step 5: take out those screws with a socket set and an extender step 6: Remove clip from in between the window crank and the door Optional you can purchase a kit to remove it but i wouldn't bother, the clip is a Omega type of shaped clip take your small flat head screw driver and start digging between the crank and the plastic piece after the handle in between there it will look like this ![]() just push that sucker off then slap it back on so u don't lose it step 7: Remove the door paneling, pretty much just pull up on the bottom part of the paneling, then watch out for the door handle getting caught on the paneling. pull up and pull off. simple. Step 8: measure the size of your tweeter make sure the hole cutter you choose is the right size, do the appropriate markings so they don't look offset from each other when you install the tweeters. ![]() ![]() step 9: Most tweeters come with a retaining ring to put in behind the tweeter to hold it flesh to the door, since the foci have a curve where I installed mine, i have a small 1cm gap on the top of the tweeters which is fine, mine is still snug. If you REALLY want to make sure it stays put some type of gorilla glue ont eh back part of the tweeter against the paneling. step 10: Put it back together! hopefully this was a good post or not please leave comments on what you think! I really love the placement of those tweets. Too bad I have power locks or I would be putting them there. I think the best bet for mine is in the A pillar like others on here.

yeah, i would do a tweeter placement for the power people, but I don't have any friends that want that done, or even have a focus, mine is about 1 in 20 in the north part of WV, well at least 1 in 20 that does something to their focus lol.
but please leave some comments i saw about 40ish views, please tell me how this write up was! Thanks, X |

Wow. Lots of great info and pics here, especially for those who haven't taken their door panels off before. I know I was hunting around for all of the clips and screws the first time I did it.
As for the install. It looks great. Nice and clean. Almost makes me wish I didn't have power windows....

If nothing else, it's a great info thread on getting the door panels off, and a nice tweeter mount too.
