New Guy looking to buy SVT Focus

Hey guys, looking for some information and insight on a Ford Focus SVT.

I daily drive a 2007 Chevy Silverado. I have a jeep wrangler which is mildly modified for offroading and a 24' speedboat.

I'm looking at the focus to drive back and forth to work in. May end up playing with it at the race track if the bug bites.

I've read to look for the '03 SVT instead of the '02. I tried some searches on here but I came up lame as to why to do that, any information would be great.

here are some pictures of my "junk"

The svt is a great little car to have... it has a great platform to upgrade for forced induction if you think you'd like to do that in the future. I wouldn't say to stay away from the 02's, some had some bugs in there as do every other car made. There are some TSB's on the car such as the clutch, but you can see if that was done anyway... do you have one you are looking to get?

Those are some nifty looking toys. Good luck with your SVT search and I'm pretty sure the bug bite ya shortly after getting it.

I am not too picky, this is a commuter car for me. I just want a good car at a fair price. I am not too picky on the options.

A couple of those pics are on Tipsico Lake. But most of them are out on Lake St. Claire.

I am sure the bug will bite me to, not much stock remains on the jeep, the boat is constantly being tinkered with and you never know what might happen to the truck when I dont have to daily drive it anymore.

I found an '02 with like 65,000 miles on it I will be looking at on Monday. I've looked at a couple already but didn't pull the trigger on them.

i would keep an eye out on ebay for some, check the buy-sell-trade forum on here, and maybe www.craigslist.com every once and a while. A nice svt is hard to come by for the right price it seems lately....
