ATX into SVT

Here's the deal. I have an SVT us with a baffed clutch, and I refuse to spend 2-3 grand on getting replaced. So I'm thinking of swapping in an automatic. Is it even do-able?

I think you would have to switch over to a regular Focus ECU since I dont think the atx functions are in the SVT's PCM. This would make things interesting to say the least, since a LOT of sensors on the SVT engine are different.

But if im wrong, theres no reason it cant be done.

You got a quote for a new clutch for 2-3grand? That seems high. And I think the swap would take away from a true SVT.

Why on earth would you want to do that? You have a 6-speed manual and you wanna go to a 4-speed auto...?

But then again, maybe if you had Lentech make you a racing tranny it'd pretty sweet...
Goal: To have as much fun building the car as I do driving it.
Phase: Drivetrain
