well I just stepped down from a V6 in my fusion a 3.0 duratec then I had a 3.0 vulcan v6 in an old taurus and now in my new 2010 focus I have a 2.0l 4 cylinder. I'd like my next car (it'll be at least a few years...) to be a hybrid. Much as I love big engines I hate the terrible fuel economy and harm to the environment and honestly don't need the extra power very much.

I would have to say turbo 4 so tha I can still get really good gas mileage and then can really jump on it when I feel like having fun. Best of both worlds IMO

4 cylinder LPG conversion. Prices are about $1.30ish per gallon. Just did a '67 VW Bug and its getting around 25mpg on propane.

FI4, please. Failing that, something in the EB family would do nicely.

Turbo/supercharged 4 banger.

I love V8's as engines, but they don't come in anything that doesn't weigh 2 tons, and I like light & nimble cars
