Quick Questions (amp install)

ok now i have just finished reading (for about 2 hours) other posts on this site about installing subs and amps. and i only have 3 questions.

1) i've read that alot of ppl have gotten their LOC from www.davidnavone.com but i got mine from BestBuy... and it looks different from the ones in this forum. Mine has on one side, 2 small screws for adjusting, and the other side had the 2 RCA ports.. but mine are molded into the plastic, and finally the biggest differance is that mine has 6 wires coming out... (gray, gray/black, white, white/black, and 2 browns) reading the box the 2 browns are grounds... are these nessicary??

2) ive seen some wireing quides for the MP3 HU but i have the 6 Disc im just curious what are the colors for the Rear Left +/- and Rear Right +/- wires are... and also what color the ground wire is ( i haven't looked at my harness yet so there might be a black wire for ground but ill ask now just to save time).

3) now for the remote wire... during my reading i found that there was 2 suggestions for this wire... green/yellow or yellow/black... what wire is the best for the remote wire?

for your wiring question go to the newbie section under YOUR DECK, the focus has two decks make sure you have the right wire diagram. Second two grounds are need for the LOC, but just connect both the your deck or make your own. The adjusting screws are for whines. If you have a whine or hear engine noise in your speekers adjust them depending on front or rear.

the grounds should only be used if you are getting noise in your system, otherwise, don't connect them.

The speaker wire colors should be the same for all of the Ford head units.
Aren't the adjuster screws in the LOC basically gain or sensitivity controls to match the output of the HU to the input of the amp?

nice catch didhefocus, i missed that part in the post. they are to match the hu, yes. not for whines. An older american international LOC that i had said not to connect the ground wire unless you were expirencing noise issues. so i take there word for it.
