06 ZX3 ATX to MTX?

howdy all,
I searched , but only found Ztec info on swapping an ATX to a MTX. I'm looking for which year cars and which motors will fit, and possibly a swap procedure with all required parts (shifter, mounts, interior, electronics) needed.

Also, if anybody knows where to get one like maybe someone here has a wrecked one, let me know!

Thanks,
Michael

p.s...also, I was at the salvage yard today, and there's a ZX3 with a MTX...will that tranny work, or will the manual from only an 05, 06, or 07 work?

come on, there been enough people look at this thread that somebodys gotta have atlease an idea?

here's where i'm at...the the 03 ZX3 I looked at in the junkyard already had the enine and tranny pulled out, so from what i've read, there's a possibility it could have been the duratec motor, and in that case, it would be a direct swap (clutch, flywheel, mounts, shifter and linkages...to name a few)

like i was asking before, what's a complete list of everything i'd need, with the items mentioned above, and some I didn't mention like the elecronics part of it?

The procedure for the Zetec MTX swap is going to be mostly correct. The biggest thing is to get a MTX from a Duratec car. The transmission is the same as a Zetec, but with a different bell housing. Honestly, I would look for a 2005+ MTX since it has a better final drive than a 2003-2004 Duratec.

Being you are in Texas, that 2003 probably will be a Zetec.

yeah, unfortunately you're correct about it being a Zetec...I went back to the junk yard to compare the various components that were still left in the engine bay to my engine bay, and it definately was a Zetec powerplant.

well, still on the search for a duratec tranny...or maybe a duratec bellhousing, and then I could get that Zetec tranny that they're only asking 300 for?!

thanks,
Michael
