be worried then...2 cars with the same horsepower, but one with more torque, all else being equal, the car with more torque is much faster...

remember horsepower is just an expression of torque over rpm

Running the same boost levels the turbo is going to win, turbos produce all of their torque early and its torque that wins races.

I have seen and driven many different types of forced induction cars... the turbo ones have always been quicker.

I've also seen the same engine, go from a SC to a turbo that was running less boost (2psi less) and still make more power... all boost is NOT equal.

True that.

It's not about PSI, it's about CFM....

I was reading an article on modding the 4.6 4valve motor.... they tested the Kenne Bell, Vortech, over driven Eaton and a pair of turbos all on the same stock 03 Cobra motor... the turbos were almost 2psi less but made OVER 100whp more than the next closest SC.... all because of CFM... not to mention after 2300rpm they also made ALOT more torque as well.

Drivers race for sure man, launching the speed is damned tough especially at the strip. But if he has mods, ouch! We make great numbers from simple bolt ons. In your favor for sure: we have goofy gearing on the MS3 and a very strange powerband. He needs to know how to launch and when to shift because redline isn't where it's at.

ure making 279 wheel hp as opposed to your buddy's 265 crank hp , so hes making significantly less hp than u at the wheels. he might get u with that turbo torque but again ure car is at least 300 lbs lighter than the mazda and the svt's got longer gearing so u maximize ure gain from the supercharger... with a proper LSD, suspension, tire pressure, and a good launch u'll smoke him easy ! good luck
