Next time you go to Best Buy look for these on one of the Car Audio Employee's shoulder's:

They know what their talking about, trust me, 2 of the forum mods for this section work for BBY. I will admit, I have shopped other BBY's and some don't know jack but look for the patches, those guys know what they're doing.

Personally I like Rockford Fosgate and Infinity. If I had to recommend a sub they would be the ones. As MA585 said go to any car audio shop and listen to the subs then decide from what you hear.

there are definitely some good installers at BB. i must say i have seen some of their work in my area and i was impressed. there is also a best buy installer on sounddomain by the name of Murph and he definitely knows what he's doing. i believe the poster was referring to the sales idiots though. i have talked to quite a few and they really don't know much. they did their job though, which was sell someone merchandise.

I fully agree there are some great installers but there are a lot of highly talented sales floor guys though. MattZX3 is a great example of a highly talented sales floor guy.

Come On! Lets see some more system pics!!!!! I know there are more out there!

Thanks, I always thought Rockford Fosgate was a low end brand, but I always knew infinity was pretty good, along with pioneer and alpine.

Oh and yeah, I was referring to the sales people, I did not get a chance to talk to the installers so I guess that was my mistake.

Rockford is an awesome brand and I know a few of you will attest to that. Check out both there lines: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...s.asp?cat_id=4
They have pretty much been a favorite for audiophiles for years, the punch line is like a starter/basic level series and the power series is their audiophile/advanced line. Check them out. Also, Infinity has 2 levels as well, Reference (basic/starter), and kappa (audiophile/advanced). The Higher series usually need more power than the lower series so that needs to be taken into consideration as well when picking out an amp because a more powerful amp usually costs a little more $$$.

you definitely don't need a cap or extra battery, not with that set up. what exactly are you looking for in a box?

honestly, while rockford is still a major company in this industry, their quality and uniquness has dissipated since the mid to late 90's. back then people were winning comps because they had an amp that said it did only 300 watts and really did 600 or 700. nowadays, 9 times out of 10 you still get a birthsheet that says it does more than what it's rated for, but it just doesn't have the wow factor that it used to. so, while the technology they are using has gotten better, as it should, i just feel that their product is not what it used to be. their subs are mediocre at best, and yes i have heard every one they make (i even own a P3 i am trying to sell). the moment they got bought out was the moment they went down hill.

Id just like to custom make one with either bondo or fiberglass to go into my trunk on passenger side floorboard. Any help you can give me will be very appreciated. Also, why do I have the whistling sound when my radio is on???

Thanks,

Jayson
