SVT header help! please

svt header installed with stock power steering line. it busted and caught fire. ha..... i ordered a SVT power steering line to go on my zetec power steering pump. what else do i need to go with the svt power steering line?

I kno. I think you miss understood. I have everything but the Svt power steering line. I put the headr and everything installed with the stock power steering line and the the stock one got hot and busted. I ordered the Svt line, will the Svt power line go right to the zetec power steer pump?

Yep it will mount right up. The SVT line has the power steering pressure sensor installed on the line vs the pump. you don't need to do anything other than find a plug to install on the SVT line or a old sensor plug that you don't use/hook up.

Just to clarify. The Svt power sterring line will hook right up to the zetec power sterring pump?

re read my post. Yes. but you will need to plug off an extra port the SVT line has that the standard Zetec does not. this does not change how it mounts to the pump.

Did you order the SVT high pressure line from Ford or from an auto parts source? If you ordered it from Ford, you will need to get the nut that threads into the power steering pump.

Or you could return the factory line and get the CFM ps steering hose relocating kit since your original hard line ends are still usable. I've been using one for several years without problem. Moves the whole line away from the hot header.

btw, Magus the end is not flared; it's a weird O-ring/small metal clip in groove type deal. One time push fit.

Correct. Once it goes on it cannot be removed and re-used. This is a separate part and you need it.

Regarding the plug on the SVT line, that's an electrical plug and you don't need to do anything with it. The pressure sensor on the Zetec is on the pump and nothing needs to be changed.

Remove the passenger headlight and it gives you much more room to work on that bottom nut.
