Hang on to your hats...Cossie US Focus

Just opened my June issue of EVO and in the news section, "A cosworth modified version of the new US Focus range, to be launched later this year, will be based on the new Mazda sourced 2.3 liter engine". It goes on to say that according to a Ford Special Vehicle Team spokesperson Ford will be offering three stage kits for do it yourself install through the Ford racing performance parts catalog.
Turbo fanatics your time may be at hand!!!
Bitchin or what?

This sounds like the Cosworth engine kits that are supposed to be out later this year. As far as I know, SVT will have nothing to do with these parts. They will be offered via Ford Performance.

A cosworth focus would be sweet. Especially if it was RWD but oh well, I can dream right?

According to EVO they will be offering a rear drive conversion. A basic carb fed V-8 conversion is said to be around $10,000. Add another $5,000 for the latest "420bhp 5-liter cammer V8".

I would wait for a better souce on this than just a magazine. It would be neat, but I'm not holding my breath.

I just got back from reading this and it didnt state that the US would be getting an actual cosworth focus. It just states that there are the cosworth engine kits that are just engine build-up kits and nothing along the lines of an actual turbo kit from ford.
