a 2.0 zx3 Vs. a 2.0 3 may be a drivers race, remember theres still the weight issue and if the foci is stick vs an auto 3.

that is definitely true...with only a 12-13hp advantage, the weight difference and the tranny would definitely make a close race...

A little OT, but I will say the more i see zx3's i like the styling...had they made a hatch ST(3 or 5 door) I would definitely have got it over my sedan

I have a friend with an '06 Mazda 3 2.3 Auto, gonna see if he's game for a coupla runs. My '08 weighs ~2550lbs according to the stats, and is a 5spd, so should be an interesting matchup.

Up slightly to 140hp, and weight is down :)

I have the uber-base S Coupe Model (crank windows, no power locks, etc), so it should be the lightest version ever.

No, 136hp was the old Duratec 2.0 spec.

The new spec (due to new ECU / Intake / Exhaust) is 140hp, and 132hp for the PZEV Cali edition. Hasn't changed.

C'mon, it's a cheap car, it's not supposed to be a $25k Turbo rocket

It's quick enough to be fun, and surprise some people

I've had Turbo Eclipse, 3000GT VR-4, 5G Lude w/SC, E39 M5, etc, so I know what 'fast' is, but it doesn't mean that this new car is a dog. 5spd S is the lightest Focus, and it scoots admirably for a cheapie. [bootyshak
