I need to to this cutout mod cuz my pump is going to need to be replaced eventually. Supposedly the 00-01 pumps were recalled. The replacement unit requires some modding of either the housing or tank to install. You could also use the 03-04 or Ford GT pumps but all require some kinda minor mod to install.

I just replaced my pump and am connecting everything back up.
Does anyone know if the line that attaches to the hat has an o-ring? It's the hard plastic line with the weird red clip should this have an o-ring on it?
Thanks.

Yes it has an O-ring ... and W/O that O-ring you will leak fuel, lots and lots of fuel.

thanks.

any comments on after having done this, a gas leak? I ended up having to use a sealer around the plastic ring cap. It wouldn't hold!

i have a 2000 focus zx3 my fuel pump is bad i think.. ive checked the fuel pressure a few diffrent ways and when i accelerate to around 3200 rpms and up it starts to surge and bogg as the rpms go up to 4000 an stop there.. i pritty sure its my fuel pump went bad.. so what would be a good fuel pump that would fit. and not OEM... which one did you put in here?

Driver module may well be a separate part and under the rear seat bottom.
