HOW TO: Install Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump

First would like to thank Pete(Illinipo), and Kyle(KS1) for showing up and helping with the installs. Later we played with Kyle's car.....

Now for the BAP.

First, for SVT's the seats are pretty simple. Just pop off the plastic caps by pulling at the bottom and they should pop right off. After that grab the back of the bottom seats and the flip over exposing the carpet.

Other foci I believe have to unbolt the rear seats and remove them.

After that, for SVT's I found the best place for your light is to wedge it in between the notch cut out for the seat belts. IT WAS PERFECT!

Next, remove the side trim pieces at the base of the doors (ZX5). Then pull back the carpet exposing the Fuel Pump, wiring, and FPCM. Make sure you splice in between the Fuel Pump and FPCM.

I mounted my BAP under the driver's side rear seat. It dido's the placement of the FPCM on the passenger side. After placement you can extend and measure the amount of wire needed to reach the fuel wires, and ground. I ran my + wire behind the seat belts. Then my - was grounded to the seat belt bracket.

The ground is very important. If the ground is not efficient enough the BAP will not be able to run properly. Not shown in this picture but later I took a wire brush and wheel and made sure I had clean contact between the car, bracket, and bolt.

Next cut and splice into the Orange/Green Wire that is in between the pump and FPCM. Make sure the + Fused side goes toward the FPCM and the Signal goes toward the pump.

Then that leaves the Dial and Pressure switch, for the dial I wanted somewhere I could get to it, but also somewhere it would be impossible to bump, accidently kick..ect I chose to mount it in the truck behind the back seat in the sub compartment. Remove the interior carpet of the sub and expose the plastic wall.

Then mark where the dial will sit making sure its not to far back you can't get your fingers to it, but also not to far forward so the rear seat hits it when it comes back.

Then for the pressure switch I bypassed it by soldering the ends together and tucked the extra wire and the seat. Note you can not change the length of these wires.

If you choose to use it you will need to "T" one of you vacuum lines and run the wire accordingly up to the engine compartment. Then connect to the pressure switch that activates at 5 PSI.

After the put the carpet back install plastic trim pieces and put the seat back and your DONE!

Note I found this out:
With Engine "OFF" key in "ON" position
With No bap stock pump ran: 11.8v
With BAP install but ungrounded "Off": 11.3
With BAP grounded and "ON" but dial at 0: 13.2

I am not sure what to run with before I get my tune done.

We should note that those voltages are with the engine off, just turning the key to on. The voltages should be higher with the engine on.

and, depending how things go after my turbo install, I'll probably be doing this to my car pretty soon

will do, I just ordered my 3" flex and resonated exhaust from Trubendz, so, my turbo should be ready for install, after that, I'm heading down to see Tom, then I'll probably need to come to Decatur for the BAP

I'm going to be busy as hell for the next couple months with the turbo install and work, it should be interesting

I have a dead BAP I've been meaning to remove from my car. Assuming a pressure line on the intake side has already been T'ed for the pressure switch, what would I want to do to that setup to get rid of the BAP? could I just leave the pressure switch there?
