ABS light Problems

Hello guys, first of all im new here so let me introduce myself. I got a 01 ZX3 late this summer and haven't had a problem yet, at least until a days ago when i was leaving work i started my car and noticed after all the cluster lights lite up and what would be normal all turn off the ABS and the Brake light did not turn off. I went to my owners manual to check if there was any major problems so that i could get home to check this out further, and found that the ABS is disabled but normal braking is still engaged.

Well what i am trying to get to is that has anyone else ran into this problem or know what to do?

First thing top do with any brake warning is to check the brake fluid level.

Have you checked the brake fluid level?

I had did issue before. Take off your front tires and check the ABS lines that run to the spindle (behind brake rotor) and run your finger over them.

They tend to kink and they will throw your ABS light on. Just buy new ones, or splice them at the kink and use wire nuts and some tape to put them back together.

I have just had the same problem on mine, all fuses good, remove the airfilterbox chk 3 wires going under the box, they are all for the ABS system, they they tend to be worn off by the edge of the airfilterbox. It take about 20mins and its pretty simple to chk.

oh yeah thats right they use a crappy actron tester that only does P-codes.

I think there is a way to pull the codes manually from the car.

try turning the car off. hold the trip reset button on the dash in and turn the car into the on position DO NOT START. I think that might get your codes retrieved.

here is a list of ABS codes:
