im thinkin more like 400+ i dont go small i go big n powerfull if not wats the point of puttin a v8 on the focus if im not goin to be pushin over 400+ to the wheels

You doing 5.0L or modular 4.6L? IIRC, both make ~285bhp stock. Going the N/A route can get you into the 300-330whp range. For 400, you are looking at a FI. That starts to get more expensive. my .02

Start a thread in the Engine swap forum when you get going. I would love to follow along!

Nice, I'de like to see that project also. I saw one in NC and it wasnt that impressive. the work was just all thrown together and just didnt run right. I thought of doing the conversion also, but gotta stay faithfull to the four banger.

yea its project right now im savin the money for the project need to buy alot of stuff for it its goin to be a long and expensive project but it will be worth it right now im just goin to have turbo for like a year and then ill start the project as soon that i start wit it ill be puttin bulletins and pics of everythin far ya can follow along and maybe i get sum of you guys to get involve in my v8 beast project

i think i have found the engine ill be usin this are the specs:

Ford Racing 347cid - 450HP Performance Assembly

347 cubic inch
450 hp @ 6000 rpm(with headers, and a 650 CFM Holley carburetor not included)
400 lb.-ft. @ 4900 rpm
9.7:1 Compression ratio (nominal)
Forged pistons
Forged steel cap screw connecting rods
Hydraulic roller camshaft, .580" lift intake .602" exhaust, duration at .050" is 232 degrees intake and 240 degrees exhaust with 1.6 rocker arms
Double roller timing chain set M-6268-A302
Forged steel crankshaft
"BOSS" 4-bolt main block, M-6010-BOSS302
High-performance rear T-sump oil pan
Rear sump pan fits most Fox body cars
MSD billet distributor
Ford Racing aluminum "Z" cylinder heads M-6049-Z304DA with 2.02" intake valves and 1.60" exhaust valves
Roller rocker arms M-6564-F351
Single plane “Victor Jr.” intake manifold M-9424-D302

Looks like you got a hell of an engine going in there. Dont get me wrong, and I am in no way trying to discourage you but, have you thought of the cost versus gains? I know when I thought of doing it I was just thinking that if I invest the money on a good turbo engine and tranny build I would be very close to the same horsepower and lighter. But I know that the props of having a V8 monster in the Focus would be just insane.

money aint an issue another reason i want to do the v8 is cuz everyone is goin turbo so i want to be different from the crowd sumthin like i said insane a v8 on a focus now u dont see that everyday and turbo cars u do see them everyday thats why i want to do it to be different u kno
