goo gone on headlights....?

So I removed my vinyl eyelids b/c they were starting to crack, bubble, and discolour. After using a razorblade to get all the vinyl off, most of the glue is left behind.

Would it be ok to use goo gone to get rid of the glue, or would their be something better to use?

EDIT: BTW i believe I'm going to get them actually painted on when i get the small dent in the door fixed since they will have to paint b/c of a paint chip in the dent.

How about a hair dryer, or a heat gun on a low setting?

Naptha? I've had great luck with it when it comes to adhesives. You can either try and find someone that sells it in its "cleaning" formula, or just go buy some Zippo Lighter fluid. It cleans off easy, too. Just apply a match. :P

(That last parts a joke, don't come to me when you melt your headlight if you try that)

I'd try it on a small spot before doing all of the light. I may be wrong, but there are some adheisive removers that are pretty harmful to some types of plastics. They can discolor it and make the problem worse.
