2002 Ford Focus Wagon SE 5-speed

113,436 miles

I've owned it seven months and have replaced a leaky master cylinder, cracked ignition coil, and installed a new set of 195/60/15 B.F. Goodrich Advantage T/A tires.

176,400 on our 2005 ZX4. Replaced a lot of stuff, including the front crash sensor and all four steel rims, which were so bent up they couldn't be balanced anymore. Front right wheel bearing and control arm had to go. Will soon replace the power steering pump, which is very corroded. Will probably hit 200,000 in the next year.

I have a red 2002 zx-3 with a 5 speed. I have 256,250 miles on it. Bought it in 2006 with 52,000. I have changed the master cylinder 3 times, the clutch at 200,000, the left and right motor mounts, the valve cover gasket twice, ac compressor. I made it to 250,000 before changing the timing belt, water pump and power steering pump. This week a rear wheel drum started grinding so plan on changing that over the weekend.

Just broke the 250,000 mile barrier. Still running perfect with the stock clutch in place!

My daughter's 2003 Focus SE - SPI 2.0 turned the magic 100,000 miles or 160,000 Kms in August 2012, but I forgot to post it. Has about 187,000 Kms on it now.

Update: Running 5W30 year round now. No indication that it is hurting. With 100,000 plus there is enough clearance between journals and bearings to warrant it. Eliminated some of the piston slap and valve train noises too. Plugged in below -5 degrees C 24 hours a day.

New snow tires on the standard 14" rims this year too. Made a big difference for navigation and braking. Will look round for some more 14" rims in the spring to mount her summer tires.

Aside from routine maintenance, trans oil drop and fill, plugs, wires, belts, idler pulley, tensioner and water pump at 155,000 Kms it has not demanded much in the way of fixes. I've attempted polishing the headlight lenses twice, but will have to become more serious about it in the spring. New ones are not an option; - expensive even for aftermarket.

Oh, we replaced the rear brake hardware after a grinding noise developed in October 2012; - return spring snapped off. I can see the stabilizer links needing replacement in 2014; although they have zerk fittings, no one ever greased them.

Even put a cabin filter under the cowl (retro'ed real nice in the top of the heater intake)

The AC has developed a small leak around the high side hose attached to the compressor; could be an O ring, but not too concerned.

My wife and I love driving it when my daughter comes home to visit. Solid ride, steering is tight and easy to park.

Happy Holidays Everyone!
