Well that is what gets me. He said she doesn't burn any oil and the oil is always clean, etc. Also a auto which I'm not too fond of but a free car is a free car right now with the wonderful economy! ;)

2001 SE Street Edition
Zetec
121,000 Miles

Only failures,

1. both rear window regulators tangled up at exact same time (around 40,000 Miles) windows are now bolted and locked in place (I rarely have passengers in the rear anyway) was out of warranty already.
2. Replaced 2 Motor Mounts at 117,000

Engine and Transmission have went through the maintenance schedule and still running.

2003 Zetec sedan, MTX, 143k.

I'd believe it, seen plenty of very high mileage cars that still didn't use any/much oil. I worked at a dealership doing oil changes for 2 yrs. Even my grandpa's towncar only used about a quart every 4k at 450000'ish. Then some drunk guy t-boned it.... in there driveway But also a good thing though because they didn't get hurt.

High Mileage

Well my 2002 spi 4dr se focus is now over 306k miles. I bought the car with 54k miles from original owner ($5800 off ebay). I change the oil at 5k mile intervals, but sometimes its delayed till 8k miles. The engine uses no oil, or very little that I never have to add between oil changes. I have changed the plugs twice, first set at 201k miles and only changed them cause the engine started stumbling/cutting out. The second set was just recently and I was bummed out that it was not the plugs(wasted my money) but plug wires. I had replaced the plug wires with lifetime warranty ones when I changed the plugs last time, so they were under warranty this time. I replaced the front wheel bearings twice now. The original timing belt went at 175k miles and I'm still on the one I replaced so its likely ready to die any day. I don't fix anything early or preventative. The air filter as far as I know is original. I blow it out now and again, probably 4 times now. Car still gets 28-33mpg depending on weather, so its not clogged. Original serpentine belt. Alternator went bad, I replaced it with a junk yard one. Pcv hose nipple cracked and was leaking, I jury rigged it. Exhaust is original, but is cracked and several hangers are rusted off. The car is not loud, so I am not fixing it. All the heat shields are loose and rattling. Drivers door handle broke, swapped it with the rear door handle and use the pwr locks to unlock the doors. Rear passenger window mechanism went bad, wired the window so it stays shut permanently now. Head light bulbs have gone bad a few times and now had one not installed right and it melted the head light bucket. I will fix that with some jury rig. Rear dogbone bushings are bad, will replace as that is unsafe and wears tires prematurely. Had to replace a few of the rims, they seem to bend easy. Have done typical brake pad changes, but don't ever recall doing the rears as they are drums. I did finally replace the rotors up front as they were extremely bad. I never turn my rotors, just throw new pads on and go. Im fully expecting to get 350k miles out of this car. I don't wash this car or anything. Its merely a car to get me from point a to b and thats it. Sure the car has had a few issues, but overall I'm extremely happy.
