155k 05 zx3
Just purchased my first focus Oct 7th 2010- 2005 ZX3 2.0L Dtec Silver 5-speed 155k miles. Previous owner retired in June of this year and didn't need a 3rd car anymore. Car is in great condition and handles on a rail. Looking forward to a few maintenance items with tips learned from this site and putting another 150K on the odo.

2000 Pitch Black ZTS
188,000 miles Problems: Ignition Key Module Ignition Coilpack Fuel Pump Crankcase Ventilation hose (rear) busted a hole right at the INT MAN connection All of the above problems happenned right around 150,000 and I haven't had any trouble since. The other big issue I've had is with the rear wheel bearings. There are two main root causes for this. 1) No cotter pin on the spindle nut. These nuts are good for about 3 or 4 removals before they start backing out and causing bearing failures. When idiots work on your car and do a "free brake inspection" they will take off your spindle nut and not tell you about it. Be wary of this when you need a wheel alignment or new tires. Recently, I've been putting lock-tite on my spindle when I remove the nut, and that seems to help. 2) I used to use Auto-Zone wheel bearings. NEVER buy anything safety related from Auto Zone! Good luck, my fellow high-milers!

Got a 2000 SE with a replaced engine SO to DO
body 146k Engine 115k Give or take a few new pads, front struts, timing and serpentine belts at 135k Engine still runs like a dream one problem though. about once or twice a week, could be a cold start in the morning or a start after a few hours of sitting, turn the key, crank, no start. second turn of the key, crank, starts right up. Not that much of a problem. |

I have a 2000 ford focus spi sohc
I bought it for $300 and well it would turn off whenever i was on a stop light, To fix the problem of it from turning off i made it idle high, Then one day I looked for leaks and found that the EGR Valve gasket was broken and it wad missing a screw, so basically it wasnt on there tight enough. In the process of trying to find the problem I had changed the fuel injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter, valve cover gasket, ignition coil, spark plugs abd wires, motor mounts and tranny mounts, tranny oil, engine oil. And i believe thats all. Now i have the shocks syuts tie rods inner and outer and sway bar end links all moog and kyb. Also imma change out the rear bushings and the bearings. I have 147700 miles and i believr i bought it at 125000. I hope I can make it run better and smoother than stock.

2005 ZX5 145,000 bought new.
So far I have: new alternator new clutch (LOTS of stop and go traffic) What it needs: air box for the A/C system replaced because the door is stuck and it broke the switch cable AGAIN. Probably not going to do it because I've been quoted $900 to do it and the car's a beater at this point and not putting that kind of money in when a $20.00 fan/heater from the parts store will work just fine. Wipers don't "park" correctly and in the "mist" function I have to hold the arm down or the wipers don't work. |

LX SPI With 127k. Replaced the alternator a month ago, along with the clutch switch, and had a plug foul at 30k. Other than that, normal maintenance does wonders
