I'm pushing 292k now. Still have the stock clutch, but it might be slipping a bit. I had a thermostat problem about 10k ago and went ahead and changed the water pump out (original one) at the time. Now, the new one is squealing like a stuck pig! I guess I'll swap it out again tomorrow. Still hoping to hit 300k before she dies.

2002 4-dr LX, SPI, automatic. Bought it from the bank; it was a repo and had about 30K miles on it then. Other than the passenger water side leak and deer hunting damage no big problems. Fresh oil and rotate the tires every 3k.

2003 Ford Focus ZX3 2.0L Zetec pushing 103,000 miles.

As for fixes, the only thing has been gone wrong with this car was the blower motor (that you guys helped me diagnose). Fixed it, and all else is fine for the most part!

EDIT: I did just remember that the door handles are a bit picky and the ignition stopped working (key is worn out though, so that's to be expected), and sometimes I get water in my hatch..

you might wanna consider replacing that ignition cylinder before it locks up. you might have o drill it out when it stops turning and it's really common on the Focus. I'f you buy one, it will be an updated version that looks different and won't give you trouble. Also, you'll want to make a new key with the VIN so you don't copy a worn key. I ordered mine from Mike Trendel (Hilbish Ford) and he hooked me up.

Well I ordered the part from ford, it got in, and ford said that it wouldnt fit, said it was too long...so I ordered another part "universal" from autozone, and it wouldn't fit either..so I'm not too sure what else to do. Right now I have the key in the ignition, and I just never remove it...I had another made for the door locks.

Mine just kicked over 100k due to nearly 20k worth of driving in 6 months. No major issues outside what I'd consider routine maintenance. I think the rear bearings are going out a little earlier than expected. I put those in at around 50k miles when I did my SVT brake conversion. I'm blaming that one on the part- no grease nipple, and no trust in me for the person who built the hubs to put the right amount of grease in there to begin with.

I swear, my focus will last me forever (God willing it's not in a crash or anything).
It's cheaper to swap parts than to make a monthly payment.
