thanks for the welcome

some truly impressive totals mentioned in this thread, I haven't read them all but obviously a well engineered car the Focus is.
As to mine, I bought it new in October 2001. I change the oil and filter approx. every 7,000 miles without fail. I use cheapo Proline oil and whatever filter is on sale.
My driving is about 2/3 highway, and I generally go with the flow of traffic....usually. It puts up 31-36 miles/gallon.
The only repairs I've done are the front roll bar end links and the DPFE sensor(did the sensor twice but not in the last 150,000 miles).
The thing I like best about driving this car is the handling, more specifically the steering. I've had Preludes and Integras, and this steering is much better than either of them. The freakin' cargo carrying ability is off the chart, for a wagon of this size and with it's chassis dynamics.
I'm hoping she hangs in there until the new Focus comes to market....even then, I will not part easily with my faithful friend.

I have started using the valvoline high mileage oil dont really know if that will make a difference. But this forum is an example of Ford quality everyone complains about fords being bad cars but my focus is doing me well. I personally hate toyota corollas

I'm running around on 152000k mi. Still kicking on its second motor thought the first one went due to the PO (he didn't tighten the crank pulley enough, came off almost, broke the crankshaft snout all the way to the timming gear, would've just put a new pulley on since it wasn't too bad but that made it knock on cyl.3). Should easily hit the 200k mi mark. Only left me stranded once and that was a dead battery. At times I'm in ah of the way this car is lasting. Its been practically abused it's whole life. Drag raced, off roaded, and having to put up with my aggressive driving day in and day out. Its really a well built car. The doors still close with the nice thud that they have since I bought it (52,000mi) Same with the trunk. All in all I have been pleased with my car and love which is the only reason it has the mileage it does. Lesser people would have gotten rid of it by now thats for sure.
