Grinding going into 2nd!

It just started happening, but when i get on it in first gear and take it to 6,000rpms and higher and try shifting into 2nd rly fast like i use to sometimes it grinds for like a second, it wont do it in any other gear just going to 2nd, when i drive normal its fine no prob, its just when im racing it does it. Is my gear going out, or whats going on here. It only happends once and awhile

do you have a short shifter? Those can sometimes screw with the syncronizers. I get a 2nd gear grind when I quick-shift into 2nd in my hatch with my short-shifter.

MTX 75 doesn't suck, it's a good tranny. It's possible that the clutch is starting to go bad. If it's the clutch, it's gonna get worse soon. It could also be the synchro going out of the tranny. MTX 75 is known to grind sometimes going into 3rd, but not 2nd from what I've seen.

I grinded once downshifting from 4th to 2nd, but I've never had any other problems...

Sounds like a synchro is going bad. Usually they only get jacked up from missing gears, grinding etc.

Maybe you need to chill out on your car, it seems like I am reading about problems with your car almost daily now.

I am certain that focaltech is correct.

This might sound unrelated, but... it reminds me of back when I first started mountain biking (1989). Back then me and some buds did a lot of thrashing, and it turned into a LOT of wrenching the bikes and a LOT of trailside repairs. After two or three years, I started to notice the bike wasn't breaking so much any more. If anything, I was riding even more miles because I was training and racing Expert by then. Point is: if you aren't riding (driving) smoothly, things eventually break. Smooth doesn't mean slow, ask any racer.
