Yes...please do, while I wear out my 3rd set of 615s as well.
You know you want to be the guinea pig.

There may be another right here - I may get a set of dual-duty AX/track wheels together first while I wait for the word on Toyo 225/45-15 R1Rs.

Dunlop did a test run with the club I run with, and the people running them say the were a decent tire, good wear and comparable handling to the 615's.

You may want to look into the Dunlop Direzza Z1.

Personally though, I love the RT 615's. I run them at autocrosses and on the track and have yet to find their limits. And believe me, I push the car.

Edit: should have read the other posts, apparently the Z1 has already been brought up, ha

The new Toyo R1R's have a 140 tread rating and a really nice looking pattern- a buddy of mine will most likely be running them in STS. Tire sizes are limited and I have never been a fan of Toyo, but I'm really looking forward to see how these will roll.

And the plot thickens - a guy on SCCAforums posted that the Toyo R1R 225/45-15s have apparently shown up at the warehouses in CA.

Still waiting to hear how they do on course before I get my 4th set of wheels. Damn $T$ class...

A little more feedback on the Dunlop Direzza Z1's...I think WD should buy a set!!!
Quote:
These tires were a lot stiffer than the other Falkens, Bridgestones, and definitely stiffer in the sidewall than the Hankooks that we had to compare them to. They feel like a mid-level R-compound in perceived sidewall stiffness, both in the Official Unmounted Tire Squish Test and the driving side of it.

"Worked well" was a pretty substantial jump in overall PAX for the event, substantial improvement of perceived grip and balance, and those things if nothing else increase driver confidence, which as we know can lead to faster lap times. And they were fist fulls of cash cheaper than the RE01R and Neova, so it is a winner all around. Once Tyson scrubs them in further, we'll get more data.

I'm planning on running in FSP... I need R's to compete well, I'm hoping I can find a deal on the Toyo R888's. I def. can't afford the Kuhmo's!

No way man!
I should be done with tire purchases till next winter...

Now, if focusedaddiction starts pullin' faster times than me once that turbo is installed...
I may very well start burnin' through the tires to stay ahead!
