Which Oil is good for SVT?

I'm using the Valvoline HorsePower 5w-30. When It's cold It runs fine and no sound. Now that it's starting to warm up here, I hear a slight ticking noise like valve stickage. Should I use a different oil? Mobil 1 or redline? Your guys thoughts....

i dont like RP.

personally i use lucas. every oil change. every fluid. if lucas doesnt make it. i use Mobil 1. but mobil one is great oil. i would do that. i would also use a good filter. like a motorcraft, wix, or purolator. all of those are good.

I hate to be the search Nazi but there are 9 million threads about this subject.

I prefer synthetic but as long as you use an API certified oil it is going to be fine running in your car.

A buddy bought a Corvette and used Amsoil after 6000 miles. Something in the engine blew up and GM would not warrenty the car because the oil was not API Certified. This was about 2 years ago, but he sold the car. I haven't talked with him in a while.

Anyways, I use Motorcraft 5w20 full synthetic. No issues. I just have the dealer do it. The cost is around $40 for 4 quarts, filter and labor.

If you motor had blown your motor Ford would not have covered it because you were not using the 5w-30 specified oil for the car.

Amsoil is API certified.
