Broken Antenna

Well this morning i was cleaning the wonderful snow off of my car and my antenna snapped off. I was not brushing hard or anything, i think it was the cold that got to it. Needless to say, i have to replace it and i think that i need to replace the base as well. Has anyone else had this happen? What am I looking at to replace it in terms of what im going to have to do to fix it?

This is a very common problem, but a fairly easy fix. All you need is a new antenna base from the dealer and then remove the dome light and unscrew the old base and secure the new base. Once you pop out the dome light you'll see the mounting screw I am referring to.

Thanks tangerine, yea the base is the male part of the antenna and the screw broke off of it in the female end.

I had to replace mine, too. About a month after I got it I was backing out of a friend's garage and it got caught on the overhead door. I hate roof antennas.

I've replaced 2 on mine. Had that damn little FC stubby one on in the winter time. Yay snap, buhbye.

Common for the states that actually get cold weather.

just had to buy one a few weeks ago. Need a new antenna also, but i bought the base from the dealer for $9.49
