I'm totally bringing up an ancient thread here, but does anyone know if there is a way to pull off the center console front plate (the silver portion) without taking out the entire dash unit?

I want to paint all the silver to a different color, but really don't feel like taking apart the entire dash unit piece by piece.

I've searched for a while and was unable to find anything specific to removing JUST the silver portion.

NOTE: Even just adding an aftermarket head unit REALLY brings the stock speakers to life!

Noooo! Sorry, bud. You've got to unclip and unscrew EVERYTHING behind there if you want just the silver part.

Go to Crutchfield. They've got kits that replace the center console and come with everything needed to get you all hooked up!

Ok, So i joined this forum because i have a questions that i feel can be answered on this thread.

Which wire harness should i be using to connect a 2 DIN JVC unit? I purchased a wire harness off of amazon which i thought was the right one, but once i got all of my wires connected all i got out of the unit was the clock would like up for maybe 5 seconds and the cd player made some sound. My assumption is that i got the wrong wire harness. Someone advise please.

i has a question replacing the old radio with an aftermaket what happens to the info station right above it?? does it stay on one thing or will it think its on something else and you can never get it back cuse id like to keep it on the clock if possible?

Ok Question , i have the 2010 SES with sync , if i install a aftermarket Radio (Planning on the Pioneer In Dash 5.7" DVD player ) will i loose the Functionallity of the Display at the Top of the Dash ? How dose that end up working out in the end ?
