Do you need to sand pack mild steel in order to bend it, or will it just bend like annealed 4140?

What thickness downpipe and manifold should you use? mig or tig weld?

Miy original DP was made out of pre-bent pieces, personally I like to use thick stock pipe.. I dont remember the thickness, but its pretty sturdy. My current one is also made from prebent pipe... but we did an angle cut style bend in it.. where you cut little pie shaped wedges then weld them together to make a bend.

My manifold is real thick... its actual PIPE instead of exhaust pipe.. I'll get a pic of it tomorrow to show you... you just wont believe how thick the walls are.

I cant see any difference in welding... TIG looks best but MIG is just as strong.

Damn right there is more to it. A non bias excellent article of turbo vs supercharging is in the february 08 issue of turbo & high-tech performance ( yes a turbo magazine) for those who demand the bigger picture like me. It concurs with a lot of the beat to death threads of what should I do TC or SC my focus.

There's nothing biased, I've only started what everyone knows... theres a dozen fellow fanatics on here that have went from SuperCharger to Turbo and they will tell you the same things.

I'll vouch for that I had the JRSC + Custom pullies, I made 12psi on the JRSC and my turbo is just a WHOLE different animal.

Wow, you already got 2 vouchers that switched from Jackson Racing Super Chargers to turbo. I''ll try to convince my focus clients to forget about Super Charging by pointing out some important parts like, no turbo lag, learn to master pre-loading, they don't put excess stress on the motor, heck I''ll even make more money from them taking their turbos off & on when they have to get their emissions checked. What was I thinking.
