2006 Antenna Base Removal

Hi. I have a 2006 Focus and my aftermarket antenna broke. I read the how to for the 05 +, but can't get the interior dome light off. Is their any special trick to releasing the dome light?

Thanks
Rich

Do you mean getting it out, or disconnecting the plug? I did that write up you read, i might be able to take a video of how to get it out and send it to you.

I meant getting it out. I've tried using a screwdriver to pry it down along with pulling down on it and it looks like their is nothing holding it in. Is their any screws that hold the dome lightin that need to be removed before pulling it down?

Thanks

It should just pop out of the plastic console like thing that it pops into.

I've tugged on it pretty hard even up until the point that i thought it was going to break. Should I just keep pulling on it. I've got the back portion of the dome light loosened up and it feels like it is pretty loose, but I can't get the front of the dome light to budge.

Just read the HOW TO again and think I have it figured out. Taking a break and going out to dinner. Will respond back later if help is needed.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

thanks tom! I was gonna say you can use a knife or anything to wedge it out of there, even a quarter would work.

And i emailed you a video Rich, just in case you still are having trouble.

Thanks Tom and Jeff. Both the pics and the video were awesome. Got the light out, but left the bolt in since I'm waiting on the part to arrive. Just glad that I could figure out how it all comes apart.

Would this also work for an 01 Focus? Same thing happened to me.

Yeah it looks to be the same procedure from 2000-07.
