If MINE'S IN RIGHT then the one pictured HERE(in the quoted thread) is in backwards. (And I've heard.....)
The printed instructions from STEEDA say "with the more tapered end", "facing the AIR FILTER"....

Tapered end? what? !

Check it out. as this pic seems to indicate, there IS NO "more tapered end" they appear equally tapered. so what now? "green-wire to the back"?
"red clip in the front"?
OK the red on the clip is on both sides so that's out.
If all of the pics on this thread are correct it's "Green wire IN, White wire OUT (facing the filter).
and MINE needs to be reversed.....
Thanks ! you all have been a great help!

As I did of course EVENTUALLY figure OUT... The "tapered end" they were referring to was ON THE FRACKIN' TUBE! NOT the MAF sensor. (My full install-ordeal can be followed in detail on my thread "STEEDA's IN ! Car's Running WORSE??")

i put a steeda in a 2004 and left off the heat shield and still get about 2 mpg better than before, if i leave my foot off of it. I can also go at least 20 miles farther on a tank. so from 32-34 mpg and from 360 miles to 380 miles. i would be interested to know which way the maf sensor goes, although my car seems to work fine.

About the bottom heatshield fitting correctly, the front corner must slip underneath the wiring below the headlight. If not then it will cause it to rock back and forth and not seat in the hole its supposed to.

Here is a pic of my install of the top heatshield. Connected it with a bracket and it fits much better.

Has anyone experienced a faint whistle during acceleration? It ALMOST (wishful thinking) sounds like a turbo spooling. It only does it above 3000 rpms at about 1/2 throttle, or i quickly hit the gas pedal. Just wondering if that's normal, or if I possibly have a leak somewhere. :-S

When you guys installed your intake did you take the factory intake ALL the way out or just the top two pieces and left the bottom one? I left the bottom one in and my steeda is very quite and I would like it to be loud as possible!

Take it all out. I removed the bumper cover to remove the oem filter & induction hoses.
